You’re Allowed to Put Things in the Dishwasher
Even if you don't think you're allowed to, you are!
Did you know that if there’s a dishwasher in your office kitchen, then you can just simply put your dirty dishes in there? Did you know that? It seems pretty simple, I know, but there sure are a lot of dirty dishes hanging around the kitchen that are in the sink, or next to the dishwasher, but never in the dishwasher so I just have to make sure.
There’s no rule that says that only one person is allowed to put dirty dishes into the dishwasher. It’s actually highly encouraged for everyone to put their own dishes in the dishwasher after they’re finished with their plates and cups! Did you know that?
The dishwasher in question (I don’t know about other dishwashers in other locations) is really, really good. You don’t even have to scrub any dishes before putting it in the dishwasher. When it goes through the washing cycle (every night!) the dishwasher does so much hard work and gets even the nastiest bits off. So you actually don’t need to put anything in the sink to “let it soak” which really just means “force me to touch wet food with my hands as I have to pick it out of the drain stopper on a daily basis.” Imagine that!
Human beings invented the dishwasher as a great place to store dirty dishes before the machine inevitably cleans them with a quick push of a button. Why you feel like it’s better to just leave a giant stack of shit right next to the thing instead of just putting it in the thing is beyond me.
Also if you make a little mess, paper towels are a great way to clean it up while it’s still wet.
