Y2K Fashion Trends That I Personally Believe Should Make a Comeback

We’ve made it, boys! Early 2000s fashion is back and it’s actually cute this time. This is no surprise, since fashion trends usually come back in twenty-year cycles but it sure is interesting to see which trends came back. In the 2000s, my age ranged from five to fifteen years old, which means that I was on the front lines of wearing some absolutely gnarly Y2K fashions—some of which I am shocked to see have not made a comeback...yet, that is.

This is an absolutely underrated fashion trend that I wish would come back. The functionality makes no sense whatsoever and that amount of fabric around your butt doesn’t feel great, but I think the youth could make this one cute again.

This Specific Piano Keys Clutch That is Very Long

I had this clutch, Ashley Tisdale had this clutch. This was the peak of accessorizing. I have no idea why clutch bags were so in back in the day because the functionality was useless. There’s barely any room to fit anything important and you have to hold it in your hands the whole time. Also for this specific clutch that I would like to come back into style (all other clutches can get fucked), it is exceptionally long for no reason.

Studded Belts Over Pants

We cannot talk about 2000s fashion without talking about scene fashion as well. Studded belts were very cool to wear, but the unfortunate thing about the 2000s was that shirts were not tucked in, thus the shirt would cover up your belt (if worn properly). This crisis was avoided by wearing the studded belt over the shit, usually having to wear an actual belt along with this cool-looking belt that served absolutely no functional purpose (I did this all the time).

Happy Bunny Shirts

It’s like wearing a meme on a shirt before memes were really a thing. It was cute because the bunny was cute, but it was also very mean! We all contain multitudes!

Actually no, let’s not go that far.
